The Polyline™ enclosures open up additional markets for Allied Moulded with many new applications more fitted to the technical characteristics of polycarbonate such as greater impact strength, durability, and ease of modification for both indoor and outdoor environments. Polycarbonate enclosures are used in harsh environments such as waste water treatment, irrigation/water control, solar/wind, chemical plants, and outdoor wireless installations. The main advantages of polycarbonate over traditional enclosures are the following: impact strength, durability, and ease of modification. The impact strength of polycarbonate is greater than other non-metallic materials. Also, the thermoplastic material has UV resistance and does not bloom or deteriorate in sunlight. When it comes to modifications, polycarbonate does not splinter or create dust as does fiberglass material. Lastly, the injection molding manufacturing process of polycarbonate enables pricing to be 20-25% less than the other non-metallic enclosures. This brings a significant cost savings to end users.

The Polyline™ polycarbonate enclosure series consists of 5 models ranging in sizes from 6” x 6” x 4” to 14” x 12” x 6” and is UL, CSA, and NEMA compliant. Conforms to the NEMA 4X standard, which means these enclosures are watertight, can withstand direct water spray, and are corrosion resistant. Models with lift-off screw covers (opaque and clear) have achieved a rating of NEMA 6P or IP68 (submersible up to 24 hours at a depth of 6 feet). Allied Moulded’s Polyline™ comes standard with “industry exclusive” mounting options, including an out-of-the-box mounting flange or adjustable mounting feet to cover various mounting configurations. Some other features include metallic or non-metallic snap latches, molded-in latch keepers and mounting bosses, a tongue and groove seal design, and molded-in back panel bosses with brass inserts and additional center bosses for mounting DIN rail. A clear polycarbonate cover option is also available for instrumentation applications where critical electrical/electronic equipment must be visible and protected from the elements.

When the application requires internal mounting of components, the Polyline™ accessories such as back panels or hinge front panels will provide greater design capabilities. Back panels are available in painted white steel or aluminum. When space is at a premium, or there is a need to cover electrical wiring, the aluminum hinge front panel is an ideal option. The Polyline™ series contains adjustable corner panel mounts for supporting the aluminum hinge front panel. The molded in corner slots provide either flush positioning with the box top or can be adjusted to 1.5” deep.

The virtual game players either hook their alligator prey to win cash or free play or get eaten, not unlike the TV show which profiles Louisiana hunters in their annual pursuit of alligators in a month-long season, frantically trying to “fill their tags” of the largest gators they can find.

“Our guests will win a pile of money in April but they won’t have to risk their limbs or their lives like Troy does to get it,” quipped Seminole Casino Hollywood director of marketing, Michael J. Broderick.

This season, the “King of the Swamp” is teaming with master hunter, Junior Edwards and his sons in running two boats to get the job done. Meanwhile, in Myrtle Grove, Joe LaFont and his stepson Tommy are back on the water. With more tags than ever this season, they’re on track to make big bucks until Joe sustains a potentially season-ending injury. In Bayou Pigeon, newcomers Austyn and Blake are trying to earn their way into the alligator business a few tags at a time. With five tags in hand, they set out to prove to their buyer that they are the next generation of swamp legends.

The first of a suite of controllers and sensors to be released under the Housecall brand, the Smartphone Garage Controller utilizes the recently released Bluetooth Smart standard, a low energy version of Bluetooth that uses approximately 1% of the electricity and has 3 times the range of traditional Bluetooth. It was developed by the Bluetooth standards organization for use in everyday household items, which do not need to transmit as much information as a voice stream. Appearing on the first consumer products in 2011, including the Apple iPhone 4S, and Droid Razr this standard will allow for the development of countless household items controllable via smartphone. It will be standard on most phones by 2012.

Installation is simple with the Housecall Smartphone Garage Controller. The patent pending design requires no tools. It simply snaps over the wires connecting the opener motor and the opener button, where metal blades will pierce the wire insulation to establish electrical connection. A keyhole slot on the bottom allows for mounting to a wall. It requires no batteries, borrowing its electricity from the existing lines. Once in place, it is paired with the user’s phone, where a special application must be installed to interact with the device. The user can then use the application to open or close the door or check on the status, as long as it is in range. The application will allow the user to select the appearance of their “clicker”, choosing from an old classic style, a modern look, a futuristic, or fanciful skin.

For users with older smartphones without Bluetooth Smart capability, BlueRadios offers the Housecall BlueBridge®. The BlueBridge converts standard Bluetooth signals to Bluetooth Smart signals, which it then rebroadcasts, allowing any Bluetooth smartphone the ability to work with Housecall. It does this automatically, and can work with an unlimited number of Bluetooth Smart devices, not just Housecall. It has a reception range of 300 feet, and can plug into any standard electrical outlet or USB powered port

For users who desire the ability to open, close, and monitor their garage door from anywhere, BlueRadios offers the Housecall BluePortal Server. Kohl’s is the nation’s favorite fashion retail chain, according to an annual consumer survey conducted by Market Force Information, a worldwide leader in customer intelligence solutions. This is the third year in a row that Kohl’s has earned the top spot. Nordstrom ranked as consumers’ second favorite, followed by Macy’s, Dillard’s and JCPenney.

Market Force surveyed almost 7,000 consumers across North America and asked them to select their favorite fashion retailer from a list of 91 national chains. Results were first tallied based on the number of total votes, where Kohl’s took a clear lead with 16% of the vote total. But, the number of votes has a strong correlation to the number of stores. Market Force wanted to determine which chain received the most votes per store, so it indexed the findings by store count. The results showed that Kohl’s still is consumers’ top choice.

Before the votes were indexed, Kohl’s earned the most total votes, while JCPenney amassed the second most, and then Macy’s, Walmart and T.J. Maxx.

Kohl’s Triumphs as Nation’s Favorite

When the votes were indexed to account for number of stores, Wisconsin-based Kohl’s retained the No. 1 position, making it a clear consumer favorite. Nordstrom moved into the No. 2 spot, Macy’s and Dillard’s tied for No. 3, JCPenney landed in the No. 4 slot, and Coldwater Creek rounded out the top five. See Graph 1.

Although they still made it into the top 16 overall, brands like Walmart, Target and Dress Barn landed toward the bottom of the rankings.

“More than 70% of surveyed consumers said that they shopped most recently for casual clothing, with business clothing coming in a distant second. That number grows to a whopping 90% when we asked what they shopped for at their favorite retailer. That tells us that price and type of merchandise loom large as selection criteria for a casual fashion retailer,” said Janet Eden-Harris, chief marketing office for Market Force. “Kohl’s has achieved that great balance of broad selection and good prices, particularly in the casual clothing sector. But, notice that Nordstrom secured second place, and specialty stores like Coldwater Creek and Ann Taylor Loft came in sixth and seventh. Those results might suggest that consumers are loosening their pocketbooks in favor of quality over a bargain for select fashion items.”

Marshalls Gets Points for Loyalty Program, Macy’s Scores for Designer Selections

Market Force also looked at how the favorite fashion retail chains compared in different categories to determine if certain attributes set apart the leaders from the rest. Kohl’s performed consistently well across the board, leading in almost every category, including no-hassle returns, prices, easy parking, dressing rooms, atmosphere and customer service. Marshalls was the only retailer that received high marks for loyalty program benefits. Macy’s trumped the others for offering the widest assortment of clothing and accessories from specific designers. See Graph 2.

Market Force conducted the fashion retail survey in October 2011. The pool of almost 7,000 survey respondents ranged in age from 18 to more than 65 and reflected a broad spectrum of income levels, with three-quarters reporting incomes of more than $ 50,000 a year. Eighty one percent were women, the primary household consumer purchasers. Half of the participants said they have children at home.
