UK Bingo Slang

September 30, 2011 By: admin Category: Recommended

Ever since bingo first hit our shores, we have been making up slang to use when playing bingo. In the past we would come up with funny little nicknames for the numbers on our bingo balls. ‘Legs Eleven’ and ‘; Two fat Ladies’, which of course, refers to the number 88 are two such examples. Today, with the advent of UK bingo websites like ChitChat Bingo, the lingo has changed.

The internet has brought with it many new words, most of which are abbreviations which allow us all to communicate much more quickly when online. This new way of using language has even added a whole new set of slang words to the world of bingo. They are generally used in the UK bingo chatrooms to allow users to communicate easily whilst games are in play. Below are some of the most common words used in online bingo today:

  1. 1TG. This means that they player only needs one more number to win a line. The ‘1’ can be replaced with any number.
  2. GL. This is the abbreviation for ‘good luck’ – something all bingo players are hoping for.
  3. BLNT. Use this when one of your chatroom buddies fails to win the game. It means ‘Better Luck Next Time’.
  4. WTG. When a chat member wins the game, you may want to congratulate them with a ‘way to go’.
